10-Minute Daily Makeup Routine

Fun fact: I worked at Ulta my senior year of highschool and the beauty counter at Dillard’s while in college. So, of course, I have a love for all things beauty. I used to be super into playing with makeup but have since toned it down. It’s not like I walked around with crazy colors but I would wear eyeshadow everyday. That’s too much work, ain’t nobody got time for that. These days I like to keep my daily makeup routine to about 10 minutes and keep it moving.

Foundation
I cannot tell you how hard it is to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. It either looks like an ashy overcast on my skin or it turns too pinky/orangey. Anybody else have this problem? When I walk up to counters they never believe how hard it is. BUT, I know! Currently in the rotation is the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation in “Bisque 410W.” If you live in Texas, this is a must have for the summer. The foundation is a 24-hour wear with a medium-to-full coverage, so your face won’t melt off. I use about a half a dime-size and that is more than enough to cover my face. It honestly never feels like I’m wearing makeup with this foundation. It also doesn’t look like that cakey face some makeup gives you.  Lancome really is a pioneer and leader in the beauty space, if you ask me.

Concealer
I probably switch up my concealer the most because I need something that helps me look awake all day. When I’m tired you see it in my eyes— I hate it. There are a few concealers I like, but for the sake of this post I’m only covering the one I’m wearing right now. I don’t have dark circles so that’s not really my issue. I have hollows that I’m pretty sure are genetic from my moms side because all the girls complain about the same thing. Anyway, I use the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in “Ginger” to counter the hollows and make my eye area look like smooth canvas. It’s a little pricey so I legit only use it for under eyes. This formula is the perfect texture — it’s not too watery or thick. And, for those sweltering Texas days it holds up pretty well.

Powder
I don’t feel complete without powder. I know some girls can go without but I’m not one of them. The Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder in “Soft Sand” sets my foundation and makes my skin look even smoother. I use a shade lighter so I can set my under eye concealer as well. I love that it’s oil absorbing but the Vitamin E helps to not make your skin feel dry.

Blush
NARS for the win again. Blush in the color “Outlaw” is my go-to for an everyday routine because it’s the perfect amount of pigment my face needs. You have to be careful with this one because if you swirl the makeup brush you’re going to end up looking like a clown. The powder goes on silky smooth to your skin and doesn’t leave a cast or shimmer. It’s perfect for day or night.

Eyeliner
If you haven’t tried the Sephora Collection, you need to. They do such a great job curating a variety of products for different needs. The Sephora Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner in “Classic Black” has been my go-to for quite some years. It’s decently priced and doesn’t budge, or give me raccoon eyes. It has a creamy, easy glide texture that’s great for a smooth line or smudging on the lash line.

And, that’s it. What? No Mascara? Kind of. If I look too tired I’ll add mascara quickly. No Lipstick? I actually do put lipstick/lipgloss on about 95% of the time but I want to make a separate post for my faves so stay tuned.

What are your daily makeup products? I want to hear about your quick morning routines.
