Confession: I have a very itchy scalp. I’ve been struggling with scalp issues for a while now and it finally got so bad that I went to the Dermatologist. Turns out, I have seborrheic dermatitis that causes flakes and bumps. Like, I have to be self aware and not scratch my head in public. Ha. I was prescribed a prescription grade shampoo but even before being properly diagnosed, I was careful with my hair products. I only use a select few and the two below happen to be secret weapons.
Hask: As you all know, I work out on the regular and need a good dry shampoo. For the longest, I couldn’t find one that didn’t make my head itch until I found Hask Coconut Dry Shampoo. In order to not wash my hair, I would just pull my hair up or wash it all over again. My hair is naturally wavy so washing it multiple times is not ideal. The Hask Dry shampoo has been a miracle worker. Not only does it not affect my scalp but ultra-fine rice starch absorbs the oil and makes my hair look freshly styled. I can go 4 days without washing my hair and gives me so much time back. It’s also free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, and artificial colors. Winning all around with this one.
Ogx Shea Sleek Humidity Blocking Hairspray: Because my head is so sensitive, I don’t like to experiment with expensive hair product. There’s nothing worse than buying an expensive hairspray only to have a flaky head.I only use hairspray when I curl my hair and was in search of something more affordable #budgetcuts to hold my curl and tame frizz. The Ogx Humidity Blocking Hairspray tames my frizz and holds my curls through the thickes humidity. The one thing I really like is that it doesn’t make my hair stiff and I can sleep on it and my curl will stay. The only thing I’m not fond of is the fragrance but that dissipates pretty quickly. All in all for the price, this works well.
Are there any drugstore hair products that you can’t live without? Let me know in the comments below so I can try them.
