I can’t remember who introduced me to podcasts but I’ve been hooked all year. Not only do they make my drives manageable but I feel like I’m constantly learning something new. Below is a list of podcasts that fill my life with nuggets of knowledge. They’re too good not to share!
Skimm’d from The Couch
Are you signed up for The Skimm? If not, slide into my DMs so I can give you my referral code. This is the first podcast episode I EVER listened to. I’m glad it was because the girls hooked me right away. Danielle and Carly basically created a platform where I can feel like I’m receiving mentorship from the top women “girl” bosses. I’m talking Sarah Blakely, Whitney Wolfe Herde, Jenny Fleiss, etc. The interviews are more informal and the hosts really do take a no BS approach. That’s my fave because I don’t want the PR story - I want the real story.
How I Built This
This podcast seriously gets my mind going to the point that I can’t focus. It’s so good! This one is a little more diverse in that they interview males and people from different paths. The host, Guy, isn’t as informal as The Skimm’d from The Couch hosts but he still does a good job at getting the real story. I love this one because you get to learn from founders in different industries. I mean, they did an interview on Troy Carter - Lady Gaga’s old manager. Super dope! Essentially every entrepreneur needs to be listening to this.
This podcast is all about beauty and how to break into beauty. The hosts are previous beauty editors and interview tons of beauty brand founders. If you read this post, you know I love all things beauty and nerd out sometimes. A couple of my favorite episodes are the interview with the M.A.C. founder and the Botox founder. This one is for the beauty junkies.
Secrets of Wealthy Women
I started listening to this one because I wanted to see if they gave me the secret tips. Spoiler alert: they don’t. However, they do provide tons of advice on how to be financially responsible. They also steer away from wealth and talk about various topics semi-related like, gender gap, giving back, life after divorce, etc…
If you are a marketing junky and like to hear about brands - this podcast is for you. I am a nerd so like to dig into the details of consumer insights and how brands push the envelope to get where they want to be. This one is for anyone trying to build a brand or anyone interested in marketing.
Okay, there are a whole bunch in my library but I don’t want to bore you with the details of each. Here is a list of others I have in my library that I listen to occasionally. Some I just started listening to, others are there for when I want something different.
